Rose and Rust #2

Oil stick and oil paint on cradled wood panel – 5" x 5" • Unframed

A study in contrast, where delicate petals meet unapologetically bold color. This piece from the Rose & Rust collection features a richly textured pink rose emerging above sweeping ivory petals, surrounded by muted sage greens, rusty oranges, and unexpected flashes of blue.

Loose, gestural brushwork captures the energy of the flowers rather than their precise details, inviting the viewer to appreciate the movement, color, and feeling of the composition.

Though intimate in scale, this original painting carries the expressive character of a much larger work. Beautiful on its own, it also becomes part of a larger visual conversation when displayed alongside other paintings in the collection.
